Your new role as a senior electrical designer:
- Ability to perform load and voltage drop calculations, develop schedules and details, and perform point-to-point fault calculations, selection of distribution equipment per project criteria, in development of permitting and constructible project documents.
- Communicate design requirements and respond to inquiries from project stakeholders such architect, general contractor, distributor, and Pieper team members during the design and construction phases.
- Attend in-person and/or virtual meetings, per determined meeting frequency.
- Use industry software to prepare electronic drawings with accuracy, neatness, and efficiency.
- Identifies potential project challenges and provides recommended solutions to project team.
- May perform on-site investigations in data collection and/or field verifications of existing conditions.
- Assists in the training and mentoring of designers.
- Maintain detailed records of communications with clients, contractors, vendors, and team members.
- Maintains a continued focus on the latest code requirements, design software, and other industry trends
- May be assigned project manager responsibilities on some projects; including establishing project scope with the client, scheduling work, implementing a QA/QC plan, and performing job close out processes.
What you need as a senior electrical designer:
- Two-year technical degree in electrical discipline plus four years applicable experience OR seven years applicable experience in commercial construction and design. Trade school license a plus.
- Experience in performing system or project designs with minimum general supervision.
- Knowledge of engineering theories and methodologies, codes and standards.
- General knowledge of other disciplines (i.e., architectural, structural, civil, plumbing, mechanical)
- Revit experience a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Knowledge of Autodesk Suite of products (i.e., MEP CAD, Revit, Navisworks, Build, BIM360)
- Knowledge of Construction software (i.e., Blue Beam, Plan Grid, ProCore, BIM360)
