- Identify HBsAg-positive pregnant women and manage their cases
- Enter all confirmed and probable VPD cases into the Texas National Electronic Disease Surveillance System (NEDSS) Base System (NBS)
- Review and follow up on all VPD laboratory reports, including electronic lab reports (ELRs)
- Initiate vaccine-based disease control activities by identifying populations in need and requesting vaccination services
- Educate healthcare providers, including physicians, laboratories, hospitals, schools, and childcare staff on VPD reporting requirements
- Conduct community needs assessments to identify gaps in immunization coverage
- Certification as a Medical Assistant
- Experience in public health, disease surveillance, or related field
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with no weekends to offer a good work/life balance.
