HR Generalist
Pay Rate: $24 / hour
Work Type: In Person
Location: Downtown Houston, TX
Hours: 8:00 – 5:00 PM, Mon-Fri
Join an established county organization where you would help facilitate, coordinate, and execute the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including management of personnel, communications, and policy administration!
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment: Collaborate with hiring managers, develop job descriptions, post positions, review applications, and conduct interviews and reference checks.
- Onboarding: Manage new hire paperwork, schedule orientations, and conduct first-day sessions.
- Personnel Transactions: Process new hires, separations, leave requests, and salary changes.
- Employee Support: Serve as the contact for payroll, benefits, and attendance inquiries.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain employee records in PeopleSoft (STARS).
- Internship Coordination: Manage internship recruitment and events.
- Wellness Activities: Organize and promote team-building and wellness programs.
- Reporting & Compliance: Generate reports and ensure adherence to policies.
- Additional Duties: Provide administrative support and perform other tasks as assigned.
List Qualification or Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field is preferred.
- One (1) – Three (3) years demonstrated experience in human resources management.
- Proficiency with various HRIS systems
