Packaging Team Technician
Pay Rate: $28.00 per hour
Location: Southington, CT
Hours: 2nd Shift 2:45pm – 11:15pm Monday – Friday
This position is open due to organizational growth and the need to enhance their packaging operations. The Team Technician will work in the Packaging Department, reporting to the Packaging Supervisor. This role is essential for ensuring that automated and semi-automated packaging equipment operates efficiently, guaranteeing that products are accurately packaged and ready for inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain top and bottom stock on packaging machines; replace trifoil and seal bead as necessary.
- Set up and calibrate sensors and adjust machines for optimal sealing.
- Monitor and maintain ink levels in print trays; perform cleanings and color changes.
- Conduct changeovers and complete associated documentation.
- Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate with Building Services and Tool Room.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and assist with material handling and cleanup.
Qualifications or Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical school background is desirable.
- Up to 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred, especially with automated equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
