- Perform iron and lead screening on adults and children following HCPH and WIC protocol and document all information in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Provide in-room support for all clinic staff during the clinic visits as needed.
- Maintains laboratory and exam rooms in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.
- Inventories supplies and forms; submits items for ordering (via designated software and contract laboratory) as needed.
- Perform data entry and electronic data processing by using the program EMR, Microsoft Excel, and any other related software.
- Stock the clinic with all the equipment necessary for client screening services. Assist with rotating dated stock to prevent loss.
- Perform medical equipment quality assurance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of a community college or business/technical school Medical Assistant program
- Certified by the American Association of Medical Assistant
- Six (6) months as a Medical Assistant with experience in a medical office, WIC Clinic, hospital, or laboratory is required
- Valid TX Driver's License
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
