Mailroom Clerk & Runner
Salary Rate: $37,000/$17.79 hourly
Location: Downtown Houston, Texas 77081
Shift: 8am-5pm (hours may change to a later or earlier shift)
The Mailroom Clerk & Runner plays a crucial role in managing the delivery and pickup of mail and packages, processing daily mail, and maintaining
the mailroom's inventory and equipment. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and is skilled in organization and
communication.
What you will be doing:
- Picking up and dropping off mail at the post office daily.
- Ensuring mail manifests are correct and date stamped.
- Driving attorneys and staff to court and appointments.
- Filing documents at the courthouse and delivering/picking up documents to/from various locations within and around downtown.
- Maintaining company vehicles, including regular car washes and oil changes.
- Assisting with processing incoming mail, particularly identifying and handling incoming payments.
- Operating and maintaining mailroom equipment.
- Assisting with the delivery and inventory of office supplies.
- Supporting attorney pickup and drop-off at various Houston locations.
- Handling miscellaneous outside office supplies requests for attorneys.
What is Required:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and handle heavy lifting (over 100 lbs.).
- Familiarity with downtown Houston, including courthouses, is preferred.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to cross-train for additional mailroom/runner duties.
