CSO Tech Apprentice
Pay Rate: $17.53
Location: Columbus, Ga
Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm (variable schedule based on rain events)
As a CSO Tech Apprentice, you prepare the combined sewer overflow facility for rain events, clean up afterward, and inspect, troubleshoot, and repair pumps, motors, valves, piping systems, and related equipment. The role includes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Required to complete a drug and alcohol screening test.
- Must have a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than 6 points within the past 3 years.
- High school diploma or GED is the minimum educational requirement.
- Requires a valid and clean driver’s license and at least one (1) year of maintenance and/or equipment operation experience, preferably in a wastewater treatment facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, requiring attention to safety and situational awareness.
- Frequently exposed to moderate noise, vibration, and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
- Occasionally encounters fumes, gases, and airborne particles while performing job duties.
- Works with and around chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, confined spaces, tanks, and chemical storage systems typical of the wastewater industry.
