Job Description
We are seeking an Automation Technician to join our Houston manufacturing team, where they will be responsible for designing, testing, maintaining, and supporting automation solutions in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Program PLC-controlled equipment to meet production, quality, and safety standards, including configuring parameters for variable frequency drives and servo drives.
- Provide technical support for automation, including troubleshooting production breakdowns, commissioning new equipment, retrofits, and continuous improvement projects.
- Investigate equipment malfunctions to enhance reliability by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and recommending preventive measures.
- Perform setup, calibration, and installation of process instrumentation such as flow meters, temperature sensors, and pressure transducers while maintaining plant control systems.
- Conduct routine diagnostics on equipment, electrical panels, and control systems, ensuring adherence to safety regulations like Arc Flash protection and proper use of PPE.
- Research and recommend new automation technologies and materials to enhance manufacturing operations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in automation, with expertise in PLCs and HMIs, including advanced programming and configurations (B&R Automation, Rockwell Automation, or Automation Direct preferred).
- Strong knowledge of VFD and servo motor control systems.
- Familiarity with industrial networking protocols (EthernetIP, ModbusRTU, ModbusTCP, CanOpen, Powerlink).
- Proficient in industrial instrumentation, including level, pressure, flow, temperature, proximity, reed, laser distance, and through-beam sensors.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $85,000 – $130,000, not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
