The Workstation Support Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of computer workstations and related equipment. This role provides vital technical support, addressing hardware and software issues to ensure end-users can effectively perform their duties. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, adept at problem-solving, and thrives in both collaborative and independent work settings.
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software components.
- Provide technical support to end-users via in-person, remote, email, and phone channels.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
- Assist in setting up new workstations, user accounts, and applications.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and printer-related problems.
- Maintain hardware inventory and records of technical issues.
- Develop documentation and guides for common IT procedures.
- High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in workstation support or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, and VPN.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and perform tasks in tight spaces.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license (required for driving a company vehicle).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
