Job Description:
A funeral home receptionist is responsible for providing compassionate and professional support to grieving families and visitors. They greet clients and guests warmly, answer phone calls, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members. The receptionist schedules appointments, maintains records, and ensures the accuracy of funeral service details. Additionally, they manage administrative tasks such as processing payments, preparing documentation, and keeping the reception area organized and welcoming. Maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating empathy are key aspects of this role, as the receptionist often interacts with individuals during sensitive and emotional times.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet visitors with compassion and professionalism, assist grieving families, and direct inquiries to appropriate staff members.
- Administrative Support: Schedule appointments, maintain accurate records, and handle correspondence, including emails and phone calls.
- Organizational Tasks: Process payments, prepare necessary documentation, and keep the reception area clean and welcoming
- Confidentiality and Empathy: Maintain discretion with sensitive information and provide emotional support to clients during challenging times.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to pass a drug screening test
- Must have experience working in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to work with little to no supervision

The base salary range for this position is $31,200 excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
