Job Description
- Review small and large meter applications for Taps and Meters Section. Utility Plan Review. Review Wastewater Capacity Reservation (WCR) letters containing accurate impact fees owed in compliance with the Code of Ordinances and State Laws and Regulations.
- Provide critical customer service needs. Provide accurate and detailed feedback to customers regarding the status of their applications.
Responsibilities:
- Enters approval or rejection and plan review notes in the building code database. Reviews corrected resubmittals. Interfaces with other technical disciplines and departments for code, ordinance and regulation enforcement and plan review processes.
- Provides data entry support for the Impact Fee Administration and Taps and Meters Groups. Answers questions from the public and internal staff by phone and in person.
- Communicates and assists customers with the application process. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate's degree, such as Building Inspection, or the equivalent.
- May require a valid Texas driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving
- Two years of skilled, journey level experience in building trades, inspection or plan examining in the area of analysis to be performed are required. Two additional years of skilled, journey level experience in building trades, inspection or plan examining in the area of analysis to be performed may be substituted for the above degree requirement.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $58,000 not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
