Job Description
The Service Coordination Advocate plays a crucial role in facilitating healthcare service coordination for our STAR+PLUS members. This position manages administrative tasks such as processing service requests, scheduling and rescheduling appointments, completing Health Risk Assessments, and ensuring seamless service delivery operations.
The role involves handling complex calls related to medical, behavioral health, long-term care issues, and LTSS SP waivers. It requires skilled professionals capable of accurately assessing member needs, providing precise information, and effectively coordinating necessary services.
Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to STAR+PLUS member and provider calls regarding scheduling, eligibility, claims, and authorizations.
- Handle complex medical, behavioral health, and long-term care calls, ensuring accurate assessment and coordination of services.
- Maintain knowledge of STAR+PLUS, OICS, and CRM systems, entering information accurately and following policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional member and provider support.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Six (6) months of call center experience is required; managed care/health insurance experience is highly preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Proficiency in computers, including Microsoft Office Suite, is required.
- Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills are required.
