Assistant Controller

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: $38.46 – $48.08/hr.
A client in Northwest Houston is seeking an Assistant Controller on a temp-to-hire basis. This role will report to the Controller and assist with management of accounting, auditing, and budgeting within the organization. If you are seeking an opportunity to advance your career, apply today!
Responsibilities:
- Oversee processes, ensure timely payments, manage invoicing and collections, monitor aging accounts, and reconcile transactions
- Prepare and file returns ensure regulatory compliance, and respond to audits and inquiries
- Assist with annual budget and forecasting, analyze financial data, and provide strategic insights
- Conduct audits, perform financial analysis, and identify, process improvements, and cost saving opportunities
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, prepare financial statements, maintain GAAP compliance, and support regulatory compliance and filings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- 3 – 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable and receivable, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of sales tax regulations and compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- CPA certification is a plus but not required
