Job Description
We are seeking a Community Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team in Kansas City. This role offers a unique opportunity to help customers achieve homeownership, refinance, save on interest rates, and access home equity for debt consolidation or home improvements. You will provide expert mortgage advice to customers in LMI and minority communities, build business by connecting with community partners, and lead financial education workshops.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert mortgage advice to customers in LMI and minority communities
- Build business by connecting with community partners like realtors, financial services, nonprofits, government agencies, and local organizations
- Lead financial education workshops and participate in community events to promote homeownership opportunities
- Originate and close mortgage loans, ensuring compliance and meeting sales goals
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth loan processing
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Established community ties and experience in outreach and referral partnerships
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bilingual in English & Spanish
- Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of CRA, Fair Lending, and community development
- Ability to travel and engage with local partners
Desired Qualifications:
- 1+ years in mortgage origination, preferably with community-focused lending
- Active Mortgage Originator with a current pipeline
- S.A.F.E. Act registration required (company will assist if needed)

The base salary range for this position is $70,000 per year, based on your experience and qualifications, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
