Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and self-directed Compliance Engineer to join a dynamic team in a growing company. The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical and electrical system compliance and will play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet safety and regulatory standards. In this hands-on role, you’ll collaborate with engineers, technicians, and third-party bodies to perform product testing, validate prototypes, and maintain testing equipment, contributing directly to the success of the business and its customers.

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards
• Review product designs, material selections, and engineering changes for compliance with regulatory standards
• Research and apply relevant compliance standards, such as UL, NEC, NFPA, and environmental directives like REACH and RoHS
• Develop and manage compliance plans, including schedules, cost estimates, and resources required for testing and certification
• Document and track compliance processes, including test results and certification approvals
• Prepare and submit necessary compliance reports and maintain compliance databases
• Provide guidance to internal teams and external partners on compliance requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2 to 5 years of related experience in compliance engineering or a similar field
• Familiarity with regulatory codes (UL, NEC, NFPA) and Environmental directives (REACH, RoHS)
• Experience with compliance testing, preparing reports, and working with third-party certification bodies
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve non-compliance issues
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences

The base pay range for this position is $85,000–$95,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
