Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Operations Superintendent to oversee production processes and ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations. This leadership role involves guiding teams, optimizing resource utilization, and delivering operational performance that aligns with strategic business goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage daily operations for a single business unit, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs, promoting an injury-free workplace.
- Supervise, coach, and develop plant supervisors to meet performance, productivity, and quality objectives.
- Monitor production yields, labor costs, material utilization, and operational expenses to achieve budgetary goals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in efficiency, waste reduction, and product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Safety, QA, HR, Maintenance, and Accounting to ensure seamless operations.
- Conduct performance reviews, manage employee relations, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
- Establish and track operational goals, analyzing performance data to identify opportunities and implement solutions.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, SSOP, and food safety standards while minimizing product failures and foreign material incidents.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 5+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment, pork or beef required.
- Proven expertise in managing production operations, safety initiatives, and quality control.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, optimize resources, and drive continuous improvements.
- Knowledge of HACCP, SSOP, and related food safety regulations.
