- Explain test procedures and instruct patients on proper positioning during the test. Apply suitable electrodes on predetermined measured positions on the patient and check their performance.
- Calibrate and adjust the EMG/NCV apparatus.
- Maintain in a clean operating condition and make minor maintenance adjustments.
- May maintain laboratory inpatient schedules and assign work in conjunction with physician.
- May assist the physician in the performance of the more complex specialized procedures.
- Process patient care orders using EMR.
- Associate’s degree in health science or equivalent
- Experience with electromyography is required
- Certification by American Association of Electromyographic Technicians or eligibility for certification is required
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR helpful (Epic)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
