Job Description Our client has been an industry leader in the Danville, VA area for over 9 years. Due to service expansion, we are currently searching for motivated self-starters to fill their open positions. 1st and 2nd shift opportunities are available. We have a limited to no contact on-boarding process to make finding work easy!
Responsibilities:
- Remove stems, off-color tobacco, and foreign material, such as strings, dirt, and paper from tobacco as it moves along the conveyor to ensure a clean and uniform product
- May drop pickings into buckets attached to the conveyor frame or into a bucket on the floor, according to whether pickings are dark tobacco, green tobacco, tobacco with stems, or foreign material
- Sweeper; trash collector; waste collector. Keep working areas in production departments clean and orderly, performing any combination of the following duties: Transport raw materials (tobacco) to supply machines or operators with materials for processing; frequently sweep floors and use a shovel to collect loose tobacco
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous tobacco experience a plus but not required
- Ability to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 20 pounds
- Teamwork, Coordination, Dependability
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
