HR Onboarding Coordinator
Hourly Rate: $20/hr.
Location: Southwest Houston, 77074
Schedule: Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Duration: 6 months with a possibility of extension
We are seeking a motivated, experienced individual to assist our Southwest Houston client as an HR Onboarding Coordinator. Under the direct supervision of the designated supervisor, the HR Onboarding Coordinator provides administrative support for the Human Resources Department.
This includes managing the new hire onboarding, including credential verifications, etc. while maintaining frequent communication with new hire candidates. May also answer calls, prepare correspondence and assemble highly confidential, sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group of external callers, visitors and prioritize and organize a diversified workload.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manages the onboarding of new hires, including (but not limited to): credential verifications, background checks, references, and pre-hire drug & occupational health screens
- Prepares, reviews, and distributes offer letters, job descriptions, and other documentation related to personnel management
- Oversees and troubleshoots issues with all associated HRIS systems for candidates and hiring managers, as needed, and manual processes that may need tracking
- Follows up with newly hired employees and hiring managers when paperwork is missing or incomplete
- Maintains frequent correspondence with candidates, to prepare for their hire, acts as a point of contact for support of the new hire during and after the onboarding process
- Attends staff meetings and participates as part of the recruitment team
- Works to ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires
What is Required:
- High School or equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources
- Healthcare background preferred
- Experience with applicant tracking systems, HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, to be able to succeed in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and productively, without supervision
- Excellent customer service, business writing, and communication skills
