Job Description:
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and efficiency of a facility by performing routine maintenance and repairs. This includes addressing plumbing issues, electrical problems, HVAC maintenance, and general building repairs such as fixing structural damage. The technician also maintains and repairs various equipment like welders, cranes, and shop tools, while applying preventative measures to reduce future issues, such as roof sealing. Additionally, they identify and resolve potential safety hazards. Strong skills in plumbing, electrical wiring, carpentry, and equipment maintenance are essential, along with attention to detail and physical stamina to handle active, hands-on tasks throughout the shift.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct ongoing maintenance around the facility, addressing issues such as repairing windows, doors, walls, and other structural damage.
- Fix leaking or broken plumbing to prevent water damage and restore the proper function of water fixtures.
- Address electrical issues, including resolving electrical shortages or fixing severed wiring.
- Maintain and repair shop equipment and machinery, such as welders, overhead cranes, press brakes, saws, and more.
- Oversee the maintenance of HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control throughout the building.
- Implement measures to reduce future risks, such as applying sealant on roofs to prevent leaks.
- Identify and resolve potential safety hazards to minimize the risk of accidents or injuries.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Electrical & Carpentry Expertise: Skilled in addressing leaks, clogs, electrical failures, and basic carpentry tasks like repairs to doors, windows, and woodwork.
- Specialized Systems Knowledge: Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical components for maintaining and troubleshooting facility machinery.
- Attention to Detail: Thorough in identifying and resolving potential hazards or issues to ensure high-quality, safe repairs.
- Physical Stamina: Capable of handling physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and managing tools and equipment.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Effective communicator with excellent customer service skills to interact positively with residents and building occupants.

If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
