Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Legal Assistant to join our Special Collections department, which manages delinquent Business-Personal Property (BPP) taxes. In this role, the Legal Assistant will oversee payment plans, conduct research on the status of corporate entities, and perform skip tracing. The Legal Assistant will play a key role in ensuring efficient management of delinquent tax accounts through administrative, research, and organizational tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of multitasking, and proactive in managing multiple priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee payment plans for delinquent Business-Personal Property taxes
- Conduct research on the status of corporate entities
- Perform skip tracing to locate responsible parties
- Manage delinquent tax accounts through various administrative and organizational tasks
- Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to ensure efficient account management
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Basic legal knowledge
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
- Strong written communication skills, including grammar and spelling
- Analytical mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Time management and prioritization skills

The base pay range for this position is $35,360–$35,360, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
