Mortgage Lending Processor
Salary Rate: $24/hr.
Location: Houston, TX 77058
Shift: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
Duration: Contract
The Mortgage Lending Processor brings their processing experience and makes a difference in our members’ lives by processing the mortgage application and preparing the file for underwriting approval, move it to closing and ultimately helping the member achieve homeownership. This is accomplished by providing the highest quality experience for both internal team members and for our members. The Mortgage Lending Processor will work in the loan origination system to set up, conduct validation of data and collection, and evaluation of documented information required. The Processor will review automated underwriting systems (AUS) and ensure the loan meets the eligibility and underwriting guidelines for that product and all conditions for closing are met. The Processor plays a pivotal role in the loan manufacturing process and is key in demonstrating and providing excellent customer service throughout the entire loan process.

- Possess a thorough knowledge of conventional, government, and non-QM lending loans programs.
- Knowledge to evaluate mortgage loan applications and supporting information and documentation (credit reports, appraisals, title reports, etc.) to efficiently package the loan file for underwriting submission and approval.
- Highly communicative with borrowers, realtors, vendors, and loan officers on the status of loan files, answering questions, and providing other information as necessary to get the loan ready for closing.
- Demonstrates organizational skills to manage an active pipeline and large volume of files per month. Maintains comprehensive knowledge and training of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending, Reg Z and other mortgage lending compliance requirements.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
List Qualifications of Requirements:
- Knowledge of organizational functions, and general operating policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of secretarial practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and punctuation.
- Knowledge of personal computer, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of consumer lending regulations and interpret those regulations affecting the Credit Union.
- Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, Customer Identification Program, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, Fair Lending, Reg Z.
- Knowledge of mortgage banking compliance, FHA, VA, Conventional, and non-QM guidelines.
- Skilled in operating computer equipment and general office machines such as personal computers, copiers, projection equipment, audio/video, Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications, and adding machines.
- Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information.
- Ability to work effectively across organizational departments and functions to achieve strategic goals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Ability to motivate others and to work in a large cross-functional team dynamic.
