Job Description
We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner who will function as a healthcare provider for patients receiving family planning services in our Clinical Health Services (CHS) division by way of the Family Planning and Healthy Texas Women grants. This position will work with the clinical team to create and maintain efficient, and patient-centered care. Also supporting the daily clinical operations while providing comprehensive public health services to all patients qualified to received family planning services.
Responsibilities
- Completes and reviews health histories, performs physical examinations, and reviews and orders appropriate laboratory tests and immunizations.
- Orders and monitors prescribed medication in accordance with Pharmacy D regulations.
- Makes referrals to other providers or agencies, as appropriate.
- Uses Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) expertise to serve as a mentor and resource person to all clinical staff.
- Seeks to assure that policies and procedures are followed.
- Assists with training new clinical staff.
- Attends and actively participates in clinical provider meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master's degree as an Advanced Practice Provider – Nurse Practitioner or as an Advanced Practice Provider – Physician Assistant
- Licensed to practice in Texas as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certified
- At least one (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider in an out-patient clinical setting
- Valid TX Driver's License
- Preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Preferred Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certified
- Preferred Experience working in family planning medical clinics

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.
