Job Description:
The Paralegal performs delegated and supervised substantive legal work which requires an understanding of legal principles and procedures. The Paralegal in this role is responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely preparation of cases from inception through trial.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-volume caseload.
- Manage a high call volume with the public.
- Ability to communicate and meet with the public, clients, and defendants, including the ability to resolve issues within attorneys' parameters.
- Keep accurate notes in the database of each case.
- Maintaining knowledge of the procedure to open, close, and update files using the case management database to open, close, and update files using the Compliance Database and run reports.
- Analyzing, organizing, and tracking case files so all case history and activity may be available to the attorney in paper form or electronic form.
- Electronically and manually maintain and update case files as assigned.
- Draft, file, and/or mail demand letters, installment, and rule 11 agreements, pleadings, discovery, and motions
- Abstract judgments and send Writs of Execution to Constables for service.
- Attend hearings and trials
- Electronically and manually maintain and update other miscellaneous cases as assigned.
- Ability to communicate and meet with the public, clients, defendants, courts, and clerks, including the ability to resolve issues within attorneys' parameters.
- Properly calendar hearings, docket control orders, and case management in cases for trials.
- Regularly communicate with attorneys and other staff members.
- Acquiring familiarity with commonly used legal terms.
- Correctly formatting and typing legal forms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- An associate degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or a closely similar field OR Paralegal certificate.
- A minimum of five (3-5) years of experience as a paralegal.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base salary range for this position is $21.50-$22.50/hr not including benefits. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth
