Patient Account Collector’s Responsibilities
- Expedite and maximize payment of insurance medical claims by contacting insurance payers and patients by telephone or website
- Assist with inquiries from outside parties regarding account status
- Review invoices to verify payments and contractual adjustments
- Resolve all denials, and requests for information, including appeals
- Follow up on outstanding accounts and make proper notations in EPIC
Patient Account Collector’s Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required
- Experience in an ambulatory center or hospital setting is preferred
- EMR: Epic experience is a strong plus
- Strong attention to detail, proofreading, organizational, and interpersonal skills are highly preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
