A medical company in Northwest Houston is looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team to assist with the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payments, and keeping up with compliance requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Administer bi-weekly payroll for two entities, including time entry, tax document processing, and compliance.
- Transmit payroll via ACH and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Train staff on timekeeping and scheduling processes.
- Develop and maintain efficient payroll procedures.
- Prepare payroll reports and track key metrics.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax laws and regulations.
- Verify new hire data in HRIS and manage garnishments and child support.
- Assist with quarterly/year-end payroll activities, including audits and W-2 processing.
- Ensure accurate health plan deductions and assist with annual audits (401(k), benefits, etc.).
- Manage expense module earning codes and provide data for government reports.
- Respond to Verification of Employment requests and assist with carrier reporting.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required.
- Knowledge of payroll, tax, and Texas-specific wage laws.
- Advanced Excel and HRIS/payroll software skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data.
- Experience in payroll for mid-size or larger organizations.
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.
