Peer Support Specialist
- Provide ongoing case management services for applicable participants; monitor the case through approved closing and maintain client records and all other required documentation with discretion.
- Manage crises by assessing, deciding, and acting following standards and laws in emergencies involving the health and safety of clients being compromised, support participants in daily decision-making, and resolution of minor problems.
- High School Diploma/GED Required
- One (1) year of advocacy, mentoring, education, counseling, substance use service, or case management experience is required.
- Lived experience with mental illness, addiction or poverty.
- Current valid certification issued and recognized by the Texas Certification Board as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Peer Recovery Specialist, Internationally Certified Peer Recovery, Re-Entry Peer Specialist, Mental Health Peer Specialist, or Recovery Support Peer Specialist is required.
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with no weekends to offer a good work/life balance.
