Job Description
A trusted and renowned healthcare organization in the Southwest Houston region is partnering with Team1Medical to seek a Prescription Authorization Specialist. The Prescription Authorization Specialist will be responsible for supporting the prescribing of medications for insured patients. Responsibilities
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits on all third-party accounts for prescription authorizations.
- Obtain authorizations and document details of all notes related to updates in Epic and Willow.
- Obtain authorization notes and input in the designated format and ensure the data is accurate to the authorized received.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Age & Disable, and Social Security rules and regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required; An associate’s degree or 2 years of college is highly preferred.
- A Registered Pharmacy Technician License from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy is required.
- Three (3) years of prescription/pharmacy authorization experience is required; Epic Software experience is a strong plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role.
