Job Description
Our Bankruptcy Department is currently seeking a highly organized Research Clerk to join our team. The primary responsibility of the Research Clerk is to research new bankruptcy business case filings by reviewing several docket reports and using search engines to verify whether a business has any accounts with the clients our firm collects for. If accounts are found, the clerk will build the bankruptcy case in our systems and produce the necessary documents for filing. Additionally, the Research Clerk will prepare claims and notices of appearance. We are looking for candidates with strong research and multitasking skills, an understanding of different business entities, and creative thinking. Bankruptcy experience is a plus, but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Research new bankruptcy business case filings using docket reports and search engines
- Build bankruptcy cases in the system and produce necessary filing documents
- Prepare claims and notices of appearance for bankruptcy cases
- Handle multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail and accuracy
- Work closely with the Bankruptcy Manager to ensure smooth department operations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Excellent organizational and research skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Strong typing and written communication skills
- Knowledge of bankruptcy procedures is a plus but not required
