Job Description
As a scale operator you will assist the location manager in ensuring correct weights, materials description and grade for all inbound and outbound loads. You will operate the scales, verify scale tickets, process, sort and grade metal as well as baling or boxing of all materials.
Responsibilities:
- Weigh and sort various metals
- Perform hands on work in an outside environment
- Ability to operate heavy equipment
- Read, write and basic math skills
- Interact with clients
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Prefer two years’ experience in a scrap metal recycling environment
- Skills and ability to identify various metals
- Pass a drug screen and background check

The base pay range for this position is $16.00–$17.00, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
