Job Description
A Senior Embedded Software Engineer is needed to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will design, develop, and test embedded software for Class III medical devices, playing a critical role in the development of life-saving AED technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in embedded software engineering and be able to solve complex challenges in a regulated environment. This position is based at our Guilford, CT headquarters with some hybrid flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test reliable, high-quality embedded software for medical devices
- Develop software architecture, requirements, and design documents
- Troubleshoot, prototype, and debug embedded software and hardware systems
- Ensure regulatory compliance with FDA and ISO software development standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, electrical, and mechanical engineers
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field with 6+ years of experience in embedded software development
- Proficiency in C, C++, and Assembly for embedded systems
- Experience with real-time operating systems and low-level debugging
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, CAN, Ethernet)
- Familiarity with FDA/ISO standards for medical device software development

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$130,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
