Job Description
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws. This role also involves providing strategic tax planning advice, managing audits, and staying updated on tax regulations to optimize the company's tax position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a staff accountant and oversee and review tax returns
- Complete and process individual and corporate tax returns
- Provide excellent customer service to tax and accounting clients
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- EA or CPA required (or in the process of obtaining CPA)
- Min 4 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm
- Ability to travel one day a week to small towns in Iowa during busy season
- Agricultural background is a plus

The base salary for this position is $80,000-$100,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
