Job Description
As a Server Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, testing, support, monitoring, and administration of large-scale, complex enterprise server (both physical and virtual) and storage infrastructures. Your duties will include configuring and maintaining data center server systems utilized by both clients and internal teams, supporting enterprise monitoring tools, and proactively reviewing operational logs to identify and address service issues. This role requires independent work and daily decision-making, utilizing sound judgment to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Utilizes service management tools, following established policies and procedures, to track and document issues, requests, incidents, and projects. Ensures follow-up to resolve issues, requests, and incidents promptly
- Participates in Client’s change management process for hardware and software updates, and communicates potential operational impacts to end-users
- Analyzes, designs, configures, tests, and implements server system upgrades and expansions, ensuring no negative impact on system availability
- Creates, updates, and enforces server configuration, build specifications, installation documentation, and procedures
- Collaborates with the security team to scan, harden, and protect systems from potential threats
- Identifies and addresses security vulnerabilities, attacks, and events, reporting these incidents to management
- Provides consultation to application teams and customers for evaluating potential equipment, components, software, and system improvements
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, researches, and resolves complex server incidents and requests
- Installs, configures, tests, and deploys server hardware and software (physical and virtual), including operating systems, applications, and patches to ensure high availability
- Administers and maintains the Active Directory environment on a day-to-day basis
- Configures, administers, and maintains server and system backups, ensuring recoverability and data integrity
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, Public Administration, or equivalent
- Minimum of four (4) years experience as a server systems administrator in a medium-sized multi-tenant server environment, desktop systems, and communications devices using current technologies
- Experience and strong working knowledge of VMware, scripting languages, Active Directory, and enterprise-class storage arrays

- Preference for candidates with experience using a backup platform
- Expertise in Commvault and advanced Active Directory management is a significant advantage

The Pay Rate range for this position is $43.00 – $75.00 per hour, excluding benefits. Your final Pay Rate will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
