Job Description
Our client is looking to add a Senior Power BI Developer to its IT team. This role involves serving as the key expert and resource for the overall Power BI strategy at our client. You will provide the highest level of support for initial and ongoing development/administration of a Microsoft Power BI capability for the enterprise. You will use your strong understanding of Power BI to innovate and develop solutions within the software with speed and accuracy. You will be responsible for building reports/dashboards to serve business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Technical expert in Power BI, able to function as an administrator and developer for the enterprise
- Builds Data Analytics enterprise models using Microsoft’s Power BI and assists business users with functional and data requirements to enhance data models
- Coordinates with other data analytics team members to improve data requirements collection, data integration, data analytics, and business intelligence techniques
- Understands the typical healthcare data architectures and data warehousing standards
- Designs, develops, and implements database structures and data models for efficient data storage and retrieval
- Converts business requirements into user-friendly and storytelling reports and dashboards in Power BI
- Develops, publishes, schedules, and maintains data visualizations, reports, and dashboards using Power BI and analytics tools
- Creates and optimizes SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes
- Directs, facilitates, and/or supports continuous improvement initiatives for increasing efficiency, streamlining, and standardizing processes, reducing costs, and improving quality
- Analyzes data to identify trends, patterns, provide actionable insights to leadership and decision-makers
- Optimizes and troubleshoots data and visuals using Performance Analyzer
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or related field. Masters’ degree preferred
- A minimum of five (5) years related work experience in healthcare
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as the Administrator/Developer in Microsoft Power BI Services (as well as Flow, Cortana, etc.)
- MUST have experience implementing Power BI for a large organization, from the ground up, for sustainability and scalability
- Business intelligence development, data modeling, data transformations, DAX language, Power Query, data visualization, solution architect
- Scripting languages (Shell Scripting or VBA) for automation tasks
- SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, manipulating large datasets, and loading (ETL) processes

The base salary range for this position is $81,000 – $125,000 per year, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
