Stationary Engineer
Salary Rate: $20-$30
Location: Chicago, IL 60608
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-3pm
We are currently seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and upkeep of our company’s equipment and physical facilities. Your role will involve proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities, alongside proposing enhancements and procuring necessary materials.
Responsibilities:
- Keeps all equipment and the facility operational. Conducts equipment checks, repairs equipment as needed.
- Ensures facilities and equipment are safe and up to code.
- May occasionally build custom equipment or perform custom design work.
- Repairs and maintains the physical facility to include HVAC, electrical system, plumbing, and construction, concrete and welding repairs.
- Makes suggestions for overall improvements, purchase of equipment, and maintenance and repair materials.
List of Qualifications or Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Illinois Drivers’ License required. CDL License Preferred.
- 5-7 years of comprehensive facility and equipment maintenance and repair experience, with a focus on HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and General Construction.
- Proven knowledge of OSHA safety guidelines, trade standards, and building codes.
- Proficient in using a variety of tools and equipment, including hammer, screwdriver, hand drill, tape measure, dollies, and ladders (8-foot and 12-foot).
Essential Capabilities
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
