Job Description
Entry-level position in subsurface utility engineering, responsible for assisting in identifying and mapping underground utilities. The role involves supporting senior technicians and engineers in the collection, analysis, and documentation of utility data using specialized equipment and software.
Responsibilities:
- Operate vacuum trucks and related tools and equipment, including jackhammers, pogo-tampers, concrete saws, compressor blowers, vacuum hoses, air lances, and hand tools.
- Drive commercial motor vehicles as needed for work assignments.
- Complete paperwork accurately, including record-keeping and basic mathematics.
- Perform daily basic maintenance on vehicles.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of vehicles, work sites, and equipment.
- Set up maintenance of traffic as directed.
- Make basic field measurements.
- Perform simple geophysical prospecting as instructed.
- Handle other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Knowledge of operating specialized equipment related to subsurface utility engineering.
- Understanding of safety compliance and regulations.
- Familiarity with record-keeping and basic mathematics.
- Capability to set up maintenance of traffic and make field measurements.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

The base salary range for this position is $20-25/hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
